Flex-Evac
Indicators are an effective and economical way to
show that a room
has been evacuated in an emergency.
Designed by a firefighter, the Flex-Evac is an
effective, solution to a
common problem.
How they work…Upon evacuating a room, the
Flex-Evac tag is activated. This
exposes a VACANT sign and a seal is created between
the door and the door
frame. If the door is opened the VACANT sign is
covered and a
photo-luminescent marker is exposed indicating
the room must be checked. The
system is simple to use and easy to remember in
a stressful emergency.
Our photo-luminescent markers make Flex-Evacs visible in dark, smoke-filled
corridors making it easy to determine if a room
needs to be checked. The
markers stay illuminated for 4-6 hours, and rapidly
self-charge upon
exposure to light.
Please note: Any room evacuation system should
be mounted below door handle
height in the event of smoke filling a hallway
and obscuring higher mounted
devices.
Suggested mounting height for the Flex-Evacs is
18” from the floor. They
are designed to withstand contact with wheelchairs
and laundry/dietary
carts.
Please note: Flex-Evacs are designed to work with
metal doorframes, but can
be adapted to work with wood or “covered” doorframes.
